ARTIS Summer Nights

While most people are leaving the city, the gates of ARTIS stay open even longer. During the ARTIS Summer Nights, held every Saturday in July and August, the zoo remains open until sunset. It is much more than a visit to the zoo; the entire park transforms into a vibrant summer festival filled with music, nature, and unforgettable experiences. What makes it so special? • Picnicking among the animals: Bring your own blanket and picnic basket and enjoy dinner beneath historic trees and blooming gardens, while zebras and giraffes wander nearby. • Live music: Emerging Dutch artists and singer-songwriters perform live on the famous Music Lawn, creating a relaxed and magical atmosphere. • Unique animal behavior: Witness the zoo at dusk and discover how animals behave as evening approaches. Some species become more active, while others prepare for a night's rest. • Children’s activities: Young visitors can enjoy treasure hunts, interactive activities, and storytellers who share fascinating tales about nature and wildlife.
